Another little project for class that I quite enjoy. I have been looking at a lot of photography blogs with different weddings. I always think the shot of the brides shows are always neat, so I tried a few for myself.

Total Slacker!
So between school, work and a sore wrist I have been a huge slacker the past few weeks. My apologies. Z said that I can no longer call this a year long blog :) So here is to my (hopefully updated) couple times a week photo blog.
Here are just a few pictures from my recent trip to San Fran. Man how I love that city!

I finally got all my books in this week...and can I say how excited I am for this semester! It doesn't feel like school anymore, I guess that's a good thing.

Today was a bit of an interesting day to say the least...took the camera out for a few minutes but did not have the attention to take anything I really enjoyed. So I am pulling from a photo shoot I did about a month ago. It's interesting how you can initially go through pictures and not like certain shots but go back through them after some time and really take a liking to there... here is one that I wasn't very found of in the beginning but there is just something about it now that I enjoy.
Happy 4th Birthday big guy!

The past few nights were the yearly meteor showers that last through the summer and I was wanting so badly to be able to experiment with long exposures...but I don't have one important piece of equipment, a cable release. So since that idea went out the window quickly, I decided to play with some candle light instead.
Today was also a sad day, a very tragic end to a life. Last night I took out my lovely D90 into the front yard to take some shots and after I got what I wanted, came back inside. This morning I noticed it was missing something...its lens cap. I looked everywhere but could not find it. I began to worry, thinking about how I wouldn't want my little D90 to get a boo boo. Not having much time to look around I loaded myself and D90 into the car and headed out. Soon after pulling out of my driveway and picking up speed, I saw something familiar...LENS CAP has found its way home!!! As soon as I got excited that I had found it, it seemed to freeze in mid air with its name, NIKON, dead center to say here I am, its me...it flew right over the windshield and was lost in the great abyss of the open road.
I couldn't help myself but laugh...here's another item to add to the wish list!

Every night I pull into my drive way after work, I am so focused on getting into the house and relaxing that I have seemed to miss the little characteristics of my house. For some reason tonight, I noticed a Lime Tree as well as how neat our house numbers looked with the light hitting them. Each day seems harder to find something new but I just need to remember to open up my eyes, even trying to find something new in something so familiar.

My post today is for my "two little survivors".
As I was driving downtown this morning to the bank, I passed the area of town with all the medical offices and drove past a Cancer Survivor Memorial. My dad is a 22 year survivor and my mom is getting ready to start her Chemotherapy treatment. When people talk about Cancer, I have such a positive outlook. My dad had a five percent survival rate, and my mom's surgeon told her that in all his years of practice, she is the sickest patient he has ever had.

These two pictures remind me of the love and tenderness that is passed between a family when you are faced with great struggle. You grow closer to the ones you love when nothing but life matters. In struggles everything is stripped, all you have left is love. With each struggle, you step through different stages which lead you to something new. Rely on nothing but faith and love and you can get through anything with your family by your side.

So today on my way back home I decided to stop in at Railroad Square to take a few shots of a cute little boutique. They turned out to not be exactly what I wanted...but I ended up finding these little gems on my stroll around the streets.

I thought this was really unique painted on the side of the building. Glad I got this shot in...right after I took it, a huge work truck parked right in front of it. Sometimes my environment does not always cooperate with me! :)
